Is the Jewelery You Wear a Matter of Taste?

If you look at the things that you wear you would notice that there are somethings that you love and other things that you feel are just OK. When it comes to your jewelery the matter could be about the same. If we look at the media they show various products that could make our lives more enjoyable and fulfilling. The better the advert the more we may consider that we need to purchase that item. So if the jewelery we have is a matter of taste, how do we develop that taste in the first place?

Life of your dreams

If you consider that in the many films that are watched you would see that the characters may be wear beautiful and wonderful jewelery. The life style of the characters could seem as those they are living the life of their dreams. So seeing these types of images on a regular basis could have the effect of the viewer wanting to live a similar life style. These movies could tend to portray people with great wealth as being very happy. Hence the viewer may at a sub-conscious level of the mind feel that if they had the things that the characters in the films have would cause the viewer to be also happy.

Is it all about how we think?

So is the jewels that we like just a matter of taste? It is interesting to consider where that taste is coming from. And it would be useful to understand how taste is developed. Because if you can develop a new taste then you could well be enjoying new things. When we come down to it, could everything all be just related to the mind? If you consider some thoughts make you feel good while other thoughts cause you to feel bad. So could what we really need is the ability to control our thoughts and our way of thinking. If we can change our life by the way that we think, then we could in theory be living the life of our dreams just by changing the way that we think. Some philosophers have suggested that by forming a clear picture of the life that we want to live could be the first step in imprinting the idea on our mind. If this is the case then you could begin to change your life by thinking on different things.

So think about the jewelery that you currently like. Now look back in your life to see where you first thought of that type of jewelry. It could be useful to consider what did you feel when you first saw that jewelry and who was wearing it. Could by looking at how you developed your taste allow you to develop and change your taste for different jewellery at will?

Conclusion

So perhaps the type of jewelry we wear is a matter of taste, but by the same token we may also be able to change our taste by virtue of changing the way that we think. And say if we change the things that we are influenced by, this could in turn change our taste. What are you views on this point? Do you feel that you can change your taste in jewelery by changing your thoughts and the things that influence you?

Great combinations Crystal neck Chain Pendant Key Rings

It has been noted in the world of business by top gurus that the way to create a new innovative product is to add new functions or facilities. The idea can be extended further by combining two or more ideas or products to make a new useful product. This concept is not new but the idea of combining jewelry with a key ring makes perfect sense. So what are the benefits?

The benefits
people over the many centuries have always been looking at possessing beautiful and attractive jewelery. So the idea of combining attractive jewelry with things like key rings makes a good combination that not only looks good but also has good practical value.

Lessons from industry
The idea of combining products together has added value in many areas of life. If you look at the fast food industry you will see how they are able to produce useful and powerful combinations. For example if a person goes to buy a burger, they may also purchase chips and a drink. So the idea of the combination meal which has all these elements for a lower price makes perfect sense. So the people who tend to do well and be more successful are able to look at how best to link products together.

The clever thing about combining Crystal neck pendants
The idea of combining a crystal neck pendant with a key ring is quite a useful idea, and this can lead us to looking at other ways to combine things together in order to produce useful products. It only takes one idea to make you a success over night. Possibly you have thought of making combination ideas but you may not have taken action. Just imagine the successes you could obtain by acting on some of those chance ideas. Think about the many times that you have had ideas, and found that a few weeks later someone has acted on the same idea and has gone onto make a very good business out of it. So perhaps the ideas to combine products that you have may not be such a bad idea. So could this be a chance to exercise your creativity and take action to come up with that winning idea.

Taking action
Many times the great idea that we have could be lost because of one simple thing, that is the fact of not taking action. But this lack of taking action can change, instead of thinking it will not work, why not think let me have a go any way. This is because it has been found that many people who have failed in many of their endeavors have eventually found success. An important key has got to be persistence. Only by not giving up and learning from failed attempts can a person go on to achieve success in life. So maybe this could be the opportunity for you to try that idea that you have always been thinking about.

Jewels to Make Your Eyes Water

Treasure Islands

What are jewels to make the eyes water, if you think of jewels you may think of the idea of hidden treasure on a treasure island. The idea of finding lost hidden treasure has been the subject of a great number of films over the years. The stories of people searching through the African Continent in search of hidden treasure has also been around for many years. This desire for treasure for the main part may be linked to the idea of becoming rich and wealthy. The fascination of getting large amounts of wealth is an activity that many people in many nationalities seem to be occupied with. People on a weekly and daily basis spend money on various forms of gambling in order to become wealthy and rich. There is even stories of an afterlife where the streets are paved with gold and other precious stones.

Good things in Life

So why is there so much interest in jewellery and why is there such a preoccupation with the idea of getting it. It could be said that having great amounts of jewels and precious stones could be associated with the idea of being rich and wealthy. The desire to be rich is the desire of most normal people. The idea of having more than enough to live on seems to be the main drive in most modern societies. People tend to be working most of there lives to get the good things in life, and this is reflected in many of the large stores that have many of these items on display.

Disgrace to Die Rich

So will mankind's appetite for jewels, gold and precious stones be satisfied? Is it possible to have enough jewels and wealth? If you look at many of the wealthiest people around today it would possibly seem as though they are continually working towards increasing the wealth that they have. The desire to get more and more never seems to be satisfied. One irony was a statement by the late Andrew Carnegie, he said it is a disgrace to die rich. He had spent most of his life running the steel industry, and had amassed a vast fortune, at one stage it was said he was the richest man on the planet. So what made one of the wealthiest men make a statement as "it is a disgrace to die rich". It would seem that after amassing such a large fortune, he may have looked at life and realised that there is more to life that having vast fortunes.

Loving Relationship

So if people could realise their dream and have jewels to make the eyes water, would that give the satisfaction that is desired. Or are the things that we really desire in life, things that you can not touch with the hands. Could it be that the things that really matter is a loving relationship, or a state of peace in the mind? Or is it possible to have great wealth but also have a loving relationship and a happy life.

What Has Jewelery Got To Do With The Mind - Part One

There is a religious book that says that it is important to renew the mind. So why should jewelry have any thing to do with the mind? The mind can be one of our greatest treasures, just like a valued precious item of jewelery. But the sad thing is that people may not actually look after the mind as it deserves to be.

Just like how it takes time to keep our jewelery clean and wonderful looking, it also takes time to keep the mind clean and wonderful. Mind and thoughts are both related, and the thoughts that we have can have a very strong impact on the mind. Even a small wrong thought over time can cause great damage to the mind. The same with jewelery if it is not looked after it can become tarnished, look at silver for example. If silver is not polished and looked after it can lose its shine. So if we are to keep the mind clean and healthy it means that we have to make it a habit of cleaning the mind daily. If we look at our bodies, we will note that it is essential to keep the body washed everyday. So keeping the mind clean is very important. With most things damage is caused by a daily regular build up of sediment. Over time build up of damaging material will cause corrosion to many things.

What things can clean the Mind?

Before we look at what things can clean the mind, let us look at what things can damage the mind. As I stated earlier build up of damaging materials can cause damage to many things. So if a person allowed a bad thought to occupy the mind then over time that bad thought could become rooted in the mind. Just like cutting a route through a forest takes effort, it is the same as the mind. Once a path has been cut through a forest, it is hard for it to become over grown again, if it is in constant use. This is why it is of great importance to constantly allow in our minds only the thoughts that are wholesome.

Currency of Time And Effort

So remember to keep your jewels clean and shiny takes regular time and effort, in the same way to keep your mind clean and healthy takes regular time and effort.
There was an interesting idea that came from a book by MGA Brown he said the following:-
In this world any thing that is good will take time and effort. Time and effort is the price that we have to pay to get the greatness that we can acquire from life. But it is a price that we can all afford to pay, we all have the currency of time and effort. It is up to us how we choose to use this currency.

Conclusion

So we can see from the above quote that the currency of time and effort can allow us to keep our minds clean and pure. This is the same currency that can be used to keep our silver shiny. So the mind and jewelery both have in common the idea that time and effort can keep them both at there best.

The key points behind looking good

What are some of the key points to looking good. When looking at this question it could be easy to think of the external things that a person could do to look good. By the same token one could consider the idea that looking good could directly relate to feeling good. Or looking good could be a combination of the two.

Another thought is that to look good a person would need to feel good inside first. Is this the case that to look good one must first feel good inside.

On the other hand, you could say that you feel good when you are wearing nice clothes. But could the thought of being in nice clothes be allowing you to feel good.

What about being in good health? After a person has completed a hard work out, freshened up with a shower and has put on nice clean clothes could end up feeling quite good. So if that is the case what did actually make the person feel good was it the hard work out or the freshening up or the putting on nice clean clothes?

Well the fact of having a hard work out is interesting. People can tend to feel good after having a hard workout, so working out possibly has the effect of allowing a person to feel good. And if someone feels good this could motivate them to also look and dress good.

Feeling Good by wearing Jewelery

Some people may suggest that by wearing jewelry can cause a person to look and also feel good. If you look at many successful singers and performers; the idea of having lot of jewelery is seen as success. This type of jewelery is some times referred to as bling. If a person has the right jewelery with the right clothes they can tend to look good. So having the right jewelery can cause a person to look good.

So what type of jewelery is currently available? Jewelery can come in a variety of flavors for example Fashion Jewelery, Costume Jewelery to name just two. But it could also be seen as a matter of individual choice, as they say beauty is in the eyes of the beholder.

But it is good to look at the types that are available for example there are many good fashion ideas at Janeo Jewels, they give quite a few different types of jewels, which can allow a person to have a wide choice. By having choice a person is able to make an informed decision on the type of jewellery that suits them most.

There are writers who say it is important to feel good, and that by feeling good you are able to create the life that you want. Indeed thoughts have been seen to be very important in how a person is affected in their life. For example if a person feels that they will recover from an illness they can tend to recover. And it has been seen that thoughts have a very powerful effect on a person's life.

So looking good can be closely related to feeling good and may also be one of the important points behind looking good.

One last simple point to remember; our articles are here to enlighten and about awareness of what we are good at; we welcome your comments to complement and add further value to our piece here in Ezine. All good comments will be replied and further commented upon; but be advised if you intend to use comments as post to advertise your online business etc.. this will never be published as all comments are individually monitored be publication.

What is the difference between costume Jewellery and Fashion jewellery?.

When comparing Fashion jewellery and costume jewellery the key question is what occasion will you be attending and what impression do you want to make.
Also you will need to look at how you can enhance your appearance, and with a piece of jewelery enhance the way that you look. The next question is does a person have to wear a very expensive piece of jewelry to look good. Well the simple answer is no, but using the right jewelery you can create a very big impact. Also someone wearing an expensive but badly matching piece of jewellery can give a bad impression. So we see it is not what you wear but how you wear it.
Creating a powerful impression.
As we looked at earlier it is important to wear jewellery that will complement the clothes that you are wearing. This will require careful thought, because you only get out what you put in. The better the quality of time and effort you put in the more rewarding your outcome could be.
You should carefully look at all your options and not leave things to chance. Preparation is the key in most areas of life; a person only gets out what they put in. A person who gives maximum effort will tend to get maximum results. A person who puts in very little effort will also tend to get very little out.
So I would say that it is good to go with your gut feeling, if something does not feel right, then it is probably not the right combination. I tend to believe that the gut feeling is generally right. There was a research that found that the top business people all followed the gut feeling when making an important decision. So if multimillionaires follow their gut feeling then it could be safe to follow your gut feeling when choosing jewelery that matches your outfit.
Really you are the person who is in control of the results that you get. For example it has been found that people take responsibility for their lives could tend to be more successful. And people who tend to blame others tended to be unsuccessful in things that the do. So I would suggest do your research and leave nothing to chance, and we only get out what we put in. An Often Overlooked Accessory: Nail Bling

It seems that as fashion marches its way triumphantly into the twenty-first century, there's not much that hasn't been accessorised. We have decorative belts and belt buckles, charms for everything from our purses to our cell phones, special boot anklets, temporary tattoos, and all manner of hair accessories. And these, of course, just cover the outlying areas, after we've already covered the staple accessories themselves, such as costume jewelry, hats, bags, and scarves. Yet while this list might seem fairly exhaustive, it does leave some items behind in the wide world of accessories. One such item that's been getting a lot of attention lately is the ever-versatile nail. No, we're not about to suggest that you hammer some metal into your stilettos to give them an edgier look. We're talking about that prettiest of natural accessory features, the finger nail. They've been painted and polished in myriad ways throughout the years, but modern fashion is lending its particular nuances to this under-appreciated accessories realm.
One of the basics of any good nail accessory scheme is keeping things neat and clean. While it can be tempting to start out with what you've got and begin the paint-a-thon, there are a lot of aesthetic issues to deal with for most nails that aren't used to receiving the special treatment. Most nail nuts recommend getting regular manicures, but you can easily take a few steps to prep at home. Trim your nails often and evenly; go ahead and get a nice clipper that lets you attack at all the right angles. While super-long nails have been in style in past decades, there's not much good coming out of the statement now, unless perhaps you're looking for an 80's vintage feel. Enjoy a nice soak and get to work on those cuticles, making a nice and even canvas for the accessorising art to come.
Once you've prepped your nails for their powerful new look, you can head out to a professional or have a friend get creative with your tips. Or if you're feeling adventurous, you can experiment on yourself until you find something that's just right. So what are the celebs sporting on their nails these days? A great variety of fashions are being flaunted on the world's most watched fingers. Some people, like singer and actress Beyonce, are all about getting their accessory out there with a big statement; the star was recently spotted with monochrome nails that featured husband Jay-z's name and a tiny photograph of him in a baseball cap on the thumbnail.
Other fashionistas are amping up the accessory voltage with Swarovski crystal embellishments and other accents that really get the camera's attention. Still others, like pop starlet Rihanna, let the color and execution of the paint job speak out loud, with bright, eclectic polishes that are both fun and funky. Whatever your personal accessories style, you're sure to find a great way to get your nails in on the action.

Los Angeles Jewellery Outlet Takes a Bold Approach to Business

Anyone with a bit of a fanatical taste for the twinkle and shine of jewelry is likely to be melted on the spot by the prospect of shopping in Los Angeles' historic jewelry district. Lined with rustic buildings that stretch toward the sky, Hill Street and nearby avenues beckon to jewelry lovers with promises of sparkling treasures and elegant designs awaiting wrists, fingers, necks, and ears, tucked away inside the labyrinthine stores and mini-malls on the ground floor. These days, however, the swooning customers have been trickling into the jewellery district in smaller and smaller numbers, with most local business owners pointing to the global economic downturn as a source of declining activity.
The mood throughout the shops and behind the display counters may be turning slightly sour as profits drop and owners struggle to reach their customer base to make ends meet. But at least one business in the district is taking advantage of the lull to set itself apart from competitors and prepare for customers to come, both in the short term and in anticipation of more prosperous times to come. Mitaa Wilshire Investments, which owns the Hill Street property Jewelry Design Center (now the Mitaa Design Center), has decided to leave fretting to its neighbors and take on the challenge of reinventing its image during the tumult of the recession.
The main weapon in Mitaa's arsenal? Renovation. Though it seems a huge and costly undertaking in any period, not to mention one in which financial resources are strained, the jewellery outfit is planning a major overhaul of the look and feel of their interior. Hoping to draw and delight a more diverse clientele, the company is set to get started this week on a substantial renovation effort with a price tag of about four million dollars.
The plans include an "opening-up" of shopping space, interspersing stores' and departments' display cases with kiosks and marble facades. The new interior will serve no less than sixty-two tenant jewelers, located on two tile-finished floors. Sketches of the completed space call to mind a fun yet refined jewellery "palace" whose furnishings and finishes are almost as captivating as the myriad diamond earrings, bib necklaces, cocktail rings, and gemstone bracelets dangling from mannequins and on velvet boxes.
And if this doesn't seem enough, Mitaa has revealed that it plans a further development for the building in early 2010, when the business --as well as the consumer climate-- is back on track. The third floor of the space will be converted to a food court and serve as a convenient and classy spot for grabbing a snack or snagging a meal in between shopping sprees. A jewellery mall that anticipates long days spent perusing shelves and cases punctuated with delicious bites and fresh coffee to keep the bargain senses alert? We couldn't be more delighted by this apparent match made in heaven.
There's no definitive word yet on whether certain themes or kinds of jewelry will take precedence in the revitalized mall, but you can bet we're rooting for an ample representation of costume jewelry pieces. With colors, shapes, and textures that can pop against nearly any background and grab the attention of style-conscious shoppers, costume jewellery is rich in the re-inventive and creative spirit that Mitaa seems to have taken to heart.

Making a Pair: Celebs Don Matching Jewelry Pieces

Giving the gift of jewellery to a friend or loved one has been a traditional expression of appreciation and love since mankind began crafting wearable adornments. There is a bevy of annual holidays that seem to call for such gifts, from Valentine's and birthdays to Christmas and anniversaries. Even one of the most important lifetime events -- a wedding engagement and ceremony -- incorporates the gift of jewelry. With all of these appropriate occasions and cues to slip a ring or necklace on your loved one, you've got to admit it's a good thing that not every piece is made for burning a hole in your wallet.
Costume jewelry lets the act of giving stud earrings, charm necklaces, bangle bracelets, fashion rings, and even accessories like belts and bag charms be an affordable and fun process, saving expensive designer pieces for more traditional affairs. And one of the best ways to enjoy the accessibility of costume jewelry is to mix and match collections, especially when it comes to adorning yourself and that certain someone special. Matching pieces for friends or lovers is a meaningful way to bond through jewelry, keeping a kindred spirit close at heart in a subtle way (though if you're comfortable wearing full-fledged matching outfits, more power to you) while creating a stylish and synchronised look.
Though the thoughtful and emotional components of shared jewelry matching reach beyond the scope of a fad, it has become a growing trend among Hollywood's hotlist. Perhaps a little disillusioned with super-expensive jewels and designs that can steal all the pizazz from even the most remarkable of designer gowns, celebrities have begun sporting matching pieces that give a firm nod towards costume jewelry's focus on attractive pieces that don't break the bank.

This week, Ace Showbiz spotted actress Camilla Belle and rumored boyfriend Joe Jonas sporting matching pieces from the Lori Lovitt collection. Belle's gold ring is complemented by her gift to Jonas, a simple yet handsome leather necklace.
Jewelry gifts don't have to be all about big stones and jaw-dropping price tags. You can travel back to the roots of why we give jewelry to our loved ones in the first place by exploring options for jewelry matching starting with some affordable costume pieces. In keeping with Belle and Jonas' leather theme, check out this rugged yet fashionable men's leather bracelet, paired with a classy yet creative leather flower corsage in matching tones and textures:

And when shopping for a grown-up version of the age-old “best friends forever” jewelry, look into classic combination sets, which do all the pairing work for you. Share your style along with your affection and make your next jewellery gift a perfect match.

NICHE Jewelry Awards Held this Week - We've Got the Winners

Jewelry lovers can often be found frequenting the windows or glistening display cases of brand name mall shops, sifting through the offerings at swap meets and markets in search of that elusive rare find, or pouring through the latest pieces in catalogs and magazines. But while a convention certainly isn't the first venue that comes to mind when considering hot spots for jewlery fiends, a recent one in the heart of Philadelphia has shown that jewelry isn't confined to the display case and the printed page. Rather, it flourishes under the spotlight of NICHE, the North American Jewelry and Craft industry's organization for encouraging professionals and amateurs alike to produce well-made and creative pieces for versatile wear.
The organization held its annual Buyers Market of the American Craft this week to the joy and frenzied note-taking of some of the country's most dedicated jewelry mavens and critics. Plenty of milling about and discussion on hot new trends and up-and-coming designers ensued, but the centerpiece of the event was to be found in the announcements of the NICHE Award, a prize given to designers in thirty four professional categories and fourteen subsequent student/apprenticeship categories. Winners received, among other perks, inclusion of their pieces and biography in the upcoming issue of the organization's magazine.
The convention's venue stayed true to the idea of lofty and impressive size with its original showcase of nearly one hundred and fifty finalists in the professional division, along with nearly seventy finalists displaying their pieces in the student division. Over the course of two days, these pieces were carefully considered by a panel of judges as well as the convention's attendees, who (following many hand-wringingly difficult decisions, one expects) eventually narrowed their choices down to less than fifty final winners. Of course, the earrings, bracelets, necklaces, rings, pins, and other baubles being judged weren't assessed quite in the same way an avid shopper might employ to decide if that pink cocktail ring is -really- necessary. No, far from observing themselves wearing the pretty pieces in a mirror or imagining their potential to match an outfit or five, the judges considered each piece of jewelry based on its originality and sense of uniqueness, its structural integrity and craftsmanship in terms of surface overall form, and in the case of professional entries, its potential to do well in the modern market.
The winning pieces ranged from the classically-inspired to art deco pins and modern chic, with plenty of nods toward the versatility and fun of costume jewelry. Lindly Haunani's “Ruffle Earrings,” dreamy chandelier earrings with flutters of deep and mossy greens dangling from discreet hook findings, were met with accolades:

As was this cute yet refined “Octopus Jellyfish Pin,” a work by Amy Roper Lyons and winner of the professional gold category and a bold direction for costume jewellery brooches:

Champion of the professional silver with stones category, this interesting bangle by Erik Stewart seems aptly named with the moniker “Mooncheese”:

While some finalists were faced with the lesson that you can't win all the time, the convention is sure to inspire many more new and tenured designers to be bold and create the kind of jewelry shoppers dream of adding to their collections.

The Vatican “goes green” for Christmas

The largest Christmas tree ever to be placed in St Peter's Square in Rome will be recycled to make toys for needy children.

The 33-meter-high tree, which came from the forests of southern Austria, was lit at an afternoon ceremony as rain that has brought the nearby Tiber River to one of its highest levels in decades started again after a one-day break.

The Vatican said all the wood from the 120-year-old tree will be recycled to make toys for needy children and garden furniture such as benches for schools.

The decision to recycle the wood from the tree was the Vatican's latest effort to go green.

We at Janeo Jewels want to thank you for participating in our Advent celebration for children of all ages in countries around the world.

We want to encourage you to sign up for a second chance to win one of our valuable prizes during the last chance to win. All you have to do is post a comment on this topic today and you’ll be entered a second time to win the prize drawing for that day. You’ll have 1 more chance to win.

Novena and the Feast of Epiphany in Italy at Christmas

In Italy, the Christmas season goes for three weeks, starting 8 days before Christmas known as the Novena and lasts till after the Feast of Epiphany.

Italian Christmas traditions are based on Christianity. The opening of the Holy Season is announced by the sound of cannons firing from the
Castle of Saint Angelo in Rome. Eight days before Christmas, a special service of prayers and church worship begin which ends on Christmas Day. This Christian service is known as the Novena, a Roman Catholic worship service consisting of prayers on nine consecutive days.

A week before Christmas, poor children dress up as shepherds complete with sandals, leggings tied with crossing thongs and shepherds’ hats. They go from house to house reciting Christmas poems, singing Christmas songs and playing them on shepherds’ pipes. In return they are given money to buy presents and treats.

During Christmas, small presents are drawn from a container known as the “Urn of Fate". In this lucky dip, there is always one gift per person. But the main exchange of gifts takes place on January 6, the feast of the Epiphany, the celebration in remembrance of the Magi's visit to the baby Jesus. Homes are covered with stockings filled with toys.

Congratulations to Ian Davey and Elena Taylor, yesterday's winners.

The Patron Saint at Christmas for Sailors

St. Nicholas is important in Greece as the patron saint of sailors. According to Greek tradition, his clothes are drenched with brine, his beard drips with seawater, and his face is covered with perspiration because he has been working hard against the waves to reach sinking ships and rescue them from the angry sea.

In the Greek Eastern Orthodox Church Christmas ranks second to Easter in the roster of importance. Yet there are a number of unique customs associated with Christmas that are uniquely Greek. On Christmas Eve, children go from house to house offering good wishes and singing kalanda, the equivalent of carols. Often the songs are accompanied by small metal triangles and little clay. The children are frequently rewarded with sweets and dried fruit.

Christmas trees are not commonly used in Greece. In almost every home the main symbol of the season is a shallow wooden bowl with a piece of wire is suspended across the rim; from that hangs a sprig of basil wrapped around a wooden cross.

Gifts are exchanged on St. Basil's Day (January 1). On this day the "renewal of waters" also takes place, a ritual in which all water jugs in the house are emptied and refilled with new "St. Basil's Water." The ceremony is often accompanied by offerings to the naiads, spirits of springs and fountains.

Congratulations to yesterday's winners: Sally Betts & Jason Carter.

An Irish Christmas

On St. Stephen’s Day, celebrated the day after Christmas, young boys travel from door to door with a wren singing songs as they beg for treats. This group of boys is called the Wren Boys Procession.

On Christmas Eve children stay with their families. At home many kids like to leave snacks for Santa. For Ireland kids, this of course, includes a bottle of Guinness and a slice of pie or Christmas cake. They also make sure to leave a light in their window. No matter by candle or electric light, this symbolizes the help you are extending to the Holy Family and other poor individuals who are forced to travel this night.

On St. Stephen's Day adorn your young men in presents of jewellery to acknowledge the blessed year that they've had. They do not have to be draped in diamonds and gold. Try modest pieces like suede wrist bands. If you have other children, don't forget about them, you'll never here the end of it. Get you little girls inexpensive costume jewellery like diamond earrrings.

A Warm Christmas in the Southern Hemisphere

Australians celebrate Christmas in the heat of early summer and it has an impact on the way they celebrate Christmas.

At Christmas houses in Australia are decorated, greetings cards are sent out and the
usual carols sung. Christmas trees are put up in homes, schools and public places, and children anticipate Santa Claus. On Christmas Day family and friends gather to exchange gifts and enjoy special Christmas food.

Many Australians spend Christmas out of doors because of the heat.
It has become traditional for international visitors in Sydney to go to Bondi Beach where up to 40,000 people visit on Christmas Day.

Australian children grow up enjoying traditional Christmas stories such as Clement Clarke Moore's 'Twas the Night Before Christmas and Charles Dickens.' A Christmas
Carol, but children's authors and illustrators are beginning to create truly
Australian children's Christmas literature.

One favourite is Wombat Divine by Mem Fox and Aussie Night Before Christmas by Yvonne Morrison.

With just a few days left, everyone is beginning to get ready for the "silly season," as the children call it in Australia.

Everyone is busily planning Christmas break-up parties.
Children are writing letters to Santa Claus. Decorations are being set up. Shopping centres and malls are experiencing record breaking crowds.
In homes children are helping to decorate the family Christmas tree.

We have yet to follow the American ritual of getting "real" Christmas trees......though some do use gum tree branches.
Children are learning Christmas Carols so that they may be sung at festive occasions such as public "Carols by Candlelight" and school concerts.

Christmas stockings are being hung in homes....though fireplaces are in short supply. Cards galore are being written and posted.

Want a great stocking stuffer idea? How about a men's cross pendant. Part of the
Janeo Jewels Men's Silver Necklace collection. Or a funky bracelet with rectangular links.

Congratulations to Hani Wyatt (Surrey) and Julie Carne (Cambridge) yesterday's winners.

Russian Christmas Traditions

While we are focusing on gift giving to less fortunate kids this Christmas, let’s remember that you do no have to be in grade school to classify yourself as a kid. This is the greatest part about Christmas. It is time for the old to become young at heart, and like my mother says no matter how old you get you are always someone’s child. Today, we will present Russian Christmas traditions.

Christmas in Russia can be characterized by the abundance of food as a major festivity. Thirty-nine days before Christmas Eve, individuals fast as they prepare to enjoy a feast with family and friends. On Christmas day Babushka delivers present to children. As the legend goes, she was supposed to see Jesus with the wise men but did not due to the cold weather. Regretting her decision, she presents gift to children this time every year.

This Christmas season consider the legend of Babushka and give a gift to someone that you have become very upset with over the year. If it is a girlfriend, give her a turquoise red stone Tibetan bracelet. For parents who have young men home from college, give them a gift they can wear while away like a men’s stainless steels barrel shaped pendant. It’s a funky design that friends back at school wont suspect came from mom.

Christmas Traditional Jewellery in the UK

This year people everywhere should focus on bringing joy to a child. These tips for the latest fashion trends in jewellery are to be worn any season no matter what country you are in. But since this is the season of giving, let’s focus on your country! We will highlight a specific country’s Christmas traditions and creative ways to present gifts of jewellery to a child in that country starting with England.

Christmas in England reminds me of holidays in the United States. Now I know why. England’s Christmas traditions are hundreds of years old and many holiday traditions in the US were adopted from this country. These traditions include Christmas card giving, mistletoe, and carols. However, one English tradition that distinguishes itself is the love that is still spread the day after Christmas after all the excitement ends. Known as Boxing Day, a gift of food or money is given to delivery men or sales people who keep in touch regularly during the year. Instead of money, give a gift that is a bit more meaningful like jewellery. Also extend your gift giving on Boxing Day to other people in your life. Why not give the young girl you pass every morning on the way to work a box with and antique silver bangle bracelet. A suede watch strap wristband would an unexpected gift to find inside your box, but for a young boy who is less fortunate it gives him another chance to receive a Christmas gift during the season.

We have a nice selection of costume jewellery bracelets for both men and women, girls and boys. There are many styles, colours and shapes to choose from. Discover
Holiday shopping at Janeo and make someone's Christmas very special this year.

Christmas For The Children at JaneoJewels

Christmas is a time to appreciate our children and teach them our values and the way we want them to live their lives. In some countries poverty is so intense parents have a difficult time sharing expensive gifts like jewellery with their children at Christmas time.

We in the west are fortunate to have the means to express our gratitude and appreciation to our loved ones by giving them the gift of fine jewellery with Swarovski Crystals, Sapphires, especially in bracelets.

This year, make it a point to save your money for the poor at Christmas and invest in fineSwarovski crystal jewellery bracelets at Janeo. That’s a novel idea.
