These movies could tend to portray people with great wealth as being very happy. Hence the viewer may at a sub-conscious level of the mind feel that if they had the things that the characters in the films have would cause the viewer to be also happy.

Is it all about how we think?

So is the jewels that we like just a matter of taste? It is interesting to consider where that taste is coming from. And it would be useful to understand how taste is developed. Because if you can develop a new taste then you could well be enjoying new things. When we come down to it, could everything all be just related to the mind? If you consider some thoughts make you feel good while other thoughts cause you to feel bad. So could what we really need is the ability to control our thoughts and our way of thinking. If this is the case then you could begin to change your life by thinking on different things.

This is a question that some would agree with and many would disagree, but could it be a question of taste? If we look at this world we would notice that most people are seeking the most attractive and beautiful person to be their life partner. If we look at the way people look to improve themselves we see that some men would go to a gym and endure hard work outs with weights in order to gain large muscles. The jewel that I am talking about is an "Idea". Jewels are considered as things of great value, but equally ideas could be considered jewels of great value. Why is this, why can ideas be considered as a form of jewelery? Well the simple answer is that just as jewels can be exchanged for money, ideas can also be exchanged for money. The fact is that within your mind you have a wealth of ideas, and all these ideas could be changed into money. I am going to explain how some of these ideas can be changed into a source of money. One thing I will say, is that we are only limited by the imagination. The imagination has the power to reveal many ideas, and the ability to use what I call constructive thinking could change these ideas into money. There is nothing easy or magical about this, it is just a matter of using the gifts that we were born with.

Limitation

One of the reason why people could find it difficult in releasing the wealth of ideas stored in the mind is possibly because of two things. The first is the belief in limitation, doubt and fear, because the mind can often tell us that the idea that we have is not possible. This doubt and fear can be one of the things that stops us from getting off the starting line. These thoughts tell us that our idea will never work, and hence a wonderful idea that could have been exchange for money is wasted. Worst still you may find that someone else later has the same idea and goes on to make large sums of money. This is very sad as you would have known that you did have that idea but did not take action.

Action

The second reason why a person may not be able to release an idea that is in their mind is because of not taking action. Because a person does not take action then an idea that could have been very useful becomes wasted. So it is very important to take action. You can imagine how much millions and trillions of ideas have been lost just because a person did not take action to make it happen. Sometimes the very thing that could have brought us the success that we have been looking for was lost because of lack of action.

He had spent most of his life running the steel industry, and had amassed a vast fortune, at one stage it was said he was the richest man on the planet. So what made one of the wealthiest men make a statement as "it is a disgrace to die rich". It would seem that after amassing such a large fortune, he may have looked at life and realised that there is more to life that having vast fortunes.

Loving Relationship

So if people could realise their dream and have jewels to make the eyes water, would that give the satisfaction that is desired. Or are the things that we really desire in life, things that you can not touch with the hands. Could it be that the things that really matter is a loving relationship, or a state of peace in the mind? Or is it possible to have great wealth but also have a loving relationship and a happy life.

There is a religious book that says that it is important to renew the mind. So why should jewelry have any thing to do with the mind? The mind can be one of our greatest treasures, just like a valued precious item of jewelery. But the sad thing is that people may not actually look after the mind as it deserves to be.

Just like how it takes time to keep our jewelery clean and wonderful looking, it also takes time to keep the mind clean and wonderful. Mind and thoughts are both related, and the thoughts that we have can have a very strong impact on the mind. Even a small wrong thought over time can cause great damage to the mind. The same with jewelery if it is not looked after it can become tarnished, look at silver for example. If silver is not polished and looked after it can lose its shine. So if we are to keep the mind clean and healthy it means that we have to make it a habit of cleaning the mind daily. If we look at our bodies, we will note that it is essential to keep the body washed everyday. So keeping the mind clean is very important. With most things damage is caused by a daily regular build up of sediment. Over time build up of damaging material will cause corrosion to many things.

What things can clean the Mind?

Before we look at what things can clean the mind, let us look at what things can damage the mind. As I stated earlier build up of damaging materials can cause damage to many things. So if a person allowed a bad thought to occupy the mind then over time that bad thought could become rooted in the mind. Just like cutting a route through a forest takes effort, it is the same as the mind. Once a path has been cut through a forest, it is hard for it to become over grown again, if it is in constant use. This is why it is of great importance to constantly allow in our minds only the thoughts that are wholesome.

Currency of Time And Effort

So remember to keep your jewels clean and shiny takes regular time and effort, in the same way to keep your mind clean and healthy takes regular time and effort.
There was an interesting idea that came from a book by MGA Brown he said the following:-
In this world any thing that is good will take time and effort. Time and effort is the price that we have to pay to get the greatness that we can acquire from life. But it is a price that we can all afford to pay, we all have the currency of time and effort. It is up to us how we choose to use this currency.

The ways of a Master

The first time I came to know Susan, was in the late summer. The sun was shining and the hot summer sun shone glistening over the canal. To look at Susan you would think there was nothing exceptional about her. But I would say that within every person there is a unique gift or talent waiting to come out.

To watch Susan take just plain material and and other seemingly insignificant bits and pieces, and make them into finished jewels was like watching the most entertaining performance that many would pay hundreds for. She has created asian bridal jewellery, fashion jewellery with very little effort. I tried to get the same results but it came out looking embarrassingly unsightly. I must admit that what she does to make this contemporary jewellery in nothing short of a miracle. How can anyone produce such excellent costume jewellry when using such basic material.

I must tell you of one particular bridal jewellery that she made has always left me in awe, just how much imagination one must have to produce a price of indian bridal jewellery. To start things off on the right foot, so to speak, we need to be very clear about what cubic zirconia actually is and how this man-made material adds beauty and brilliance to the world of costume jewellery. Cubic zirconia is a gemstone that has the appearance of a sparkling diamond. That is the main reason why this man-made and rather-inexpensive (compared to a real diamond of any cut and clarity) gemstone is so popular with the bridal sector as well as the everyday costume jewelry industry.

Dr. Osiko perfected the technique of heating the cubic zirconia and then placing the heated-material in a form he called the skull crucible. Sometimes the very best regrettable accessories are born out of such apparent necessity, and there's nothing like the blast of cold winter weather to bring out the worst in accessory design. Shopping for hats, scarves, and gloves each year as the temperature drops is a pleasure for most fashionistas, and many may have noticed trends surrounding fingerless gloves. Often as cozy and comfortable as the originals, fingerless gloves supposedly allow for a greater range of motion and ability with the fingertips (say, typing an iPhone message on the go) while still essentially keeping the hands warm. The trend certainly has its critics, many of whom question the wisdom of keeping the most cold-vulnerable parts of the hands uncovered. But we think the pool of critics will likely get a significant boost thanks to the launch of Handerpants. The name may be horrifying, but there's something worse to come: these fingerless gloves are exactly what you're fearing. Tighty whities for the hands.

We're not sure precisely who the product managers had in mind when they began marketing these duds of winter fashion wonder, but we're pretty sure that the target audience wasn't particularly intended to have any back issues of Vogue. Crafted in cotton (arguably the only redeeming quality of the pieces), the Handerpants are sewn and seamed to resemble the plainest of boy-underpants, complete with a mundane elastic band that wraps around the wrists and proudly displays the name of the tacky product (just in case anyone missed the idea upon seeing the Handerpants themselves). Probably incapable of providing much of any warmth to the hands, these fingerless gloves may well be one of the most useless as well as the most objectionable fashion accessories we've seen on the market in quite some time.
It's hard to go wrong with a pair of quality cashmere or leather gloves for cold weather woes, and there are scores of other spot-on winter accessories that can brighten up any season. From the appeal of seasonal costume jewellery in the shape of Santa's hat or an elegant snowflake to pieces that incorporate both the distinctive color palette and cheer of the holidays into their design, fashion accessories perfect for gift-giving and splurging for the self can be found in abundance. ...A walk in the park is what Robert Downey, Jr. might have had in mind when he dressed for a London dinner last week, accompanied by his wife and famed British filmmaker Guy Ritchie. Ostensibly celebrating the then-imminent release of his new Sherlock Holmes flick, Downey Jr. sat down for what was likely a lovely meal –dressed in less than lovely duds. Fashion Design Students Support Heart Health with Red Coats Project

Sometimes, it can seem as though there's a special awareness day or black-tie benefit for a health or charitable concern at nearly every point on the calendar, but some causes are likely to be more personally meaningful than others. After all, we can't exactly remember the last time we wore a ribbon for National Frozen Foods Month, nor can we recall any enthusiastic supporters sharing their harrowing tales of a life once lived without microwaveable dinners. By contrast, however, issues that take on some of the greatest challenges of our time, such as heart health, are probably worthy of attention, and when the fashion world gets involved, there's an extra incentive to put personal effort and thought into contributing to meaningful change.
Such a contribution has been, at least in part, the goal of a program recently unveiled at Marist College in New York. The college's fashion design program supported a small group of students in creating a series of red coats for raising awareness about heart health for the American Heart Association. The coats were recently put on display at the college, after which they will be presented at a luncheon held by the AHA, finally to retire at an awards ceremony back at Marist. The AFF celebrated a new milestone this week as it announced the addition of Vietnam to the Federation's group of five participating countries. Now incorporating Japan, China, the Republic of Korea, Singapore, Thailand, and newcomer Vietnam, the Federation presents an even more powerful fashion punch and may help deliver much-needed economic stimuli to the region's various fashion industries. Though Vietnam is the newest member of the group, it is no stranger to the fashion world, being home to scores of fashionistas and budding designers intent on expressing their individual takes on clothes and accessories to the world of wearables.

The joining ceremony, in fact, was held as part of a major national competition, the Vietnam Collection Grand Prix 2009, which took place over the weekend of the 22nd and featured a boggling amount of entries at over eleven thousand, submitted by over fifteen hundred talented entrants. Taking the world by surprise –and by storm--, the event has faced numerous difficulties both in its organization and in the final presentation. Throughout the planning process, the launch of the event was put on delay in response to security threats. As the fashion show, featuring the designs of several rising talents in the field, largely flaunted Western ideas in fashion and society, the event was seen as a direct challenge to Taliban rule and many conservative values held by traditional Pakistani society. Persevering through the threats to deliver a week of entertainment and visual enlightenment proved to be highly successful, even in spite of an initial power outage, one of the many chronic problems experienced in the bustling metropolis of Karachi.
The few who might naturally associate Pakistan with fashion are likely historians and other scholars; one of the leading producers of silk and other fine fabrics, Pakistan has enjoyed a rich history of the production of precious textiles, and supports a massive exporting industry responsible for much of the country's income. The star wore a pair of amply-sized, polished metal bangles at a perfect mid-length, resting about halfway between her jawline and shoulders, emphasizing her neck and echoing the sleek look of her well-groomed updo. The earrings were no doubt chosen as a tribute to the 60's British mod look, well-matched by Cole's pair of dark matte thigh-high black boots. With earrings like these, we could almost be persuaded to overlook the jaw-droppingly awful dress that made its way onto the camera, but the sheer oddness of the swerving neckline, protruding armpits, and scrap metal-esque silver appliques (are those pieces of rebar or perhaps fridge magnets?) make it hard to stand by without saying anything.

Fabrican garments pay provide a small degree of protection against the elements, but it's hard to imagine wearing a spray-on “sweater” in the midst of a particularly cold December evening. Structure may also be an issue, as so many pieces of clothng serve not simply to cover the body itself, but to create a certain visual form over it with various cuts and shapes. And of course, or most pressing worry is over the possibility that spray-on accessories such as costume jewellery may take a hint from the fad and send us can-crazy with spray-on earrings and other strange fashion delights. At this stage, however, it looks as though Fabrican and its makers might not prevail beyond the realm of the novelty, leaving traditional fashion -–inconvenient as it may be-- to take care of the serious business.

Notable for its collection of cutters, sewers, pattern makers, findings suppliers, and all other manner of garment industry professionals, the district is a fashion designer's dream come true, and has served to help support the efforts of well-known designers in today's market. Recently, however, the district has realized a degree of danger in the face of a clothing environment that simply isn't as energetic as it used to be. With sales in the fashion industry experiencing a sharp decline, the ability of the Garment District to support itself through the recession has come under question, and many admirers of the area have rushed to the district's rescue.
Serving as the basis for untold scores of accessorising, the fashions that have emerged from the Garment District over the course of its long life span have inspired and awed, and have also gone long way towards keeping America clothed, even with simple fashion fare. Lindsay Lohan Makes Major Fashion Failure

Amidst all the gossip and gushing about great new designs and exciting collections, there's a fair amount of scandal to be found at a given Paris Fashion Week event, as most devotees of the traditional show are well aware. This year, the award for the most talked about, and perhaps most vehemently criticized (as in, ever, period) aspect of the show undeniably goes to Lindsay Lohan's fashion flop at luxury design house Ungaro. Red flags went up across the industry nearly a month before the event when the news of Lohan's involvement with the traditionally high-fashion firm was released. Critics wondered what the design company must have been thinking, while others suggested that the move was an affront to the professionals who spent their careers involved in serious design work. There are a number of theories as to why Ungaro may have made its controversial move, but a number of gossipers have noted that asking a celebrity to endorse a brand is fairly common in the fashion world. Of course, design houses usually restrict the arrangement to the realm of putting on a pretty face; celebrities might feature prominently in advertisement campaigns, or might make a testimonial or branding contribution through a signature or the lending of their name. But ask a celebrity -–especially one as hotly contested as Lindsay Lohan-- to actually do the design work, and mouths are likely to drop open.
That's precisely what happened at the showing of the latest Ungaro collection at Paris Fashion Week, but the astonishment was clearly not leaning towards the positive. Critics had a veritable field day with the bright and “gaudy” designs on parade, describing the collection as lacking invention and breaking the rules of form and color -–but in a decidedly bad way. While some industry rags attempted to maintain a sense of sympathy for Lohan, the mood online and in print since the event has been distinctly vicious, something that has spawned the occasional commentator to suggest that the failed campaign may signal a change in direction for fashion houses that have been taking advantage of celebrity involvement.
It may be the case that Ungaro was simply looking to safeguard its name and assets during an especially turbulent economy, but if this is true, it would appear that the design studio, which has typically catered to high-end fashionistas and those with a deep purse and an even deeper appetite for couture, has effectively caused its own worst nightmare. Flipping through a favorite fashion magazine has long been a beloved pastime of fashion mavens around the world, and cozying up with the latest collections of clothes, celebrities, shopping leads, and fashion-related editorials will likely be a hobby for scores of people for many years to come. But the way in which fashion and beauty are presented in magazines may be in for quite a change. Recently, the lofty world in which such publications reside has been turned on its side somewhat by accusations that an overabundance of images of unhealthily thin, airbrushed, and otherwise altered women is having a negative effect on the mental health and well-being of the population at large, and among young women and girls in particular. The short version? Too many picture-perfect models are making readers feel bad about themselves.
With the advancement and diversification of media, especially in the fashion world, critics wonder whether the adherence to unrealistic looks has gone beyond the artistic and entered into the realm of the insane. As a result, several seemingly shocking suggestions and initiatives have been announced, all in an attempt to take the therapy bill out of an afternoon fashion mag read.
The popular magazine Elle has made a valiant effort in this direction by recently publishing an issue without makeup or digital alterations, a bold move for a mag with a large and diverse readership. While the issue was highly praised among advocates of natural beauty and many readers chimed in on their support, the prompt return to the status-quo of airbrushing and whisper-thin waists makes the issue look like more of a concession than a cause for feeling good.
In what has been characterized as a somewhat more radical move, a piece of French legislation has recently been produced that, if made into a law, would require warning text to be included with altered images to inform readers about the “surreality” of the pictures, akin to the EU's proliferation of warning labels on packages of cigarettes. Taking a bit of extra initiative, a successful German fashion magazine has recently announced plans to stop publishing pictures of models altogether; while purchased advertisements may still feature idealized figures and the forgiving nuances of Photoshop, its covers and features will include friends, family members, and those working as its employees, a decision which has drawn ample amounts of praise and incredulity alike.
Whether the German mag Brigitte manages to change the way that women think about fashion magazines, it is clear that the industry will experience a push towards better representation of the female figure as found in nature. Of course, these initiatives may also simply give rise to a divide between two very different types of fashion magazines; one which is progressive, and the other, stuck in the past. Or would it be a divide between the amateur, pop culture fashion crowd and the “real,” original camp? We're content to stick to highlighting the beauty of our costume jewellery on its own merits, knowing the pieces will complement anyone on which they're worn.

Though there was no dearth of class or elegance, risky ensembles and make-it or break-it gowns were, for the most part, left on the shelves as more reliable numbers made their way out of the limos and into the Los Angeles theatre venue.
Many designers were able to showcase a number of spectacular gowns from their collections; among them, Monique Lhuillier, Merchesa, and J. Mendel saw their creations getting ample spotlight time as notable stars donned their dreamy evening duds. A full spectrum of color and fabric was present at the event, with blue reining as one of the most popular choices for hue.
